Class 1 Construction is seeking a Site Engineer for a water services project in Oxford for over one years worth of work.


Role Purpose: To take responsibility for the dimensional control of the construction works,


ensuring that the works are constructed accurately and within the agreed


tolerances. To monitor the quality of the construction works and prepare /


collate final documentation for each project for the Company’s records and/ or submission to our clients.


Key Duties:
1. Setting out and dimensional control of the works

  • Production and maintenance of drawing registers
  • Recording data and maintaining site records
  • Checking drawings and designs for accuracy, buildability and specification compliance
  • Quality control of constructed works
  • Production and maintenance of test and inspection plans
  • Production of site health, safety and environmental documentation
  • Provide health and safety statistics to head office
  • Encourage a positive approach to health, safety and environmental issues
  • Produce accurate ‘as-built’ drawings of the constructed works
  • Collate documentation for Health and Safety file
  • Ensure surveying equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
  • Be conversant and up to date with relevant legislation on construction issues
  • Actively promote the Company to existing and new clients and project a positive image of

the Company to all stakeholders

 Good health & safety documentation and culture


 Accurate as-built documentation produced promptly


Qualifications: Degree in civil engineering (or equivalent), CSCS, IOSH Managing Safely


Profile: Will have gained a minimum of three years of experience working for a Company


involved in civil engineering (or building involving civil engineering or groundworks).


Must be able to use a variety of surveying instruments and be able to work


independently, without direct supervision. Attention to detail is key as is the ability to


communicate effectively with site management and operatives (both direct labour


and sub-contract) and clients.


Experience Required: (M = Mandatory, D = Desirable)


M Setting out using different types of surveying equipment e.g Leica


M Civil engineering experience




D 1 day Health & Safety accredited course IOSH or equivalent


D Contracting experience


D Producing health and safety documentation


D Producing as-built drawings


D Producing quality assurance documentation
