The Post

The post is available part-time, 3 days a week, term time only from January 2023 and provides the opportunity for a well-motivated and talented individual to join the Catering team.  The position is a temp to perm contract.
Accountable to: Facilities Manager
Department: Head Chef (1), Sixth Form Café Supervisor (1), Bakery Chef (1), Part-time Wok and Salad Chef (1), Sous Chef (1), Part-time Catering Assistants (8), Part-time Dishwasher Attendants and Cleaning Assistant (5)
Person Specification
We are looking for an experienced and well organised Pastry Chef, with experience of working in a fast-paced kitchen.  They will have great attention to detail, a genuine interest and passion for food and excellent customer service.  They will be fully committed to the vibrant life of the school, helping with school events, being creative and showcasing their skillset.  They will be a good communicator and an all-round team player, who can work collaboratively and successfully with staff in the department.
Job Purpose
  • To work well in a team producing cakes and desserts for lunch service to 1000 pupils and staff
  • To produce food for service using fresh ingredients and cooking from scratch.
  • Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
  • Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
